The Young and Restless
Marty Grubbs • 06-Jun-2021
Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs continued through the book of Job in the Unwavering series. A new voice joins Job, Elihu, son of Barakel the Buzit. Elihu was younger than Job’s friends who had shared their advice and admonitions. He had waited until now to speak out of respect, showing humility. His message to Job is passionate, and not easy to hear, but worth listening to. This type of generational communication is something we lack today. People, regardless of their age or position, should continue to learn from other generations.
Words for the young:
Speak up but be respectful
Stay humble and teachable
Listen more than you talk
Sit with the older generations, they know much from experience and have gained wisdom
Words for the older:
Respect the younger generation, don’t dismiss them, but listen to them
Be an example of how to respect
Don’t set your opinion without conversation
Be open to learn something
Sit with the younger generation, make an effort to understand them, be open-minded
