Job’s diseased skin had affected him and his appearance so drastically that three friends who had come together to visit and comfort him, hardly recognized him and immediately began grieving for him. Then they sat with Job for seven days, saying nothing, just sitting with their friend. They felt compassion for Job, and wanted him to know they were there for him. They had all most likely shared good times in the past, and now they showed up for their friend to share his in his anguish.
