Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs continued in the book of Job where after losing his children and his livelihood, Satan strikes Job with a horrible skin disease. Satan’s goal was to get Job to curse God to his face, but God remained certain of Job’s integrity and the depth of his faith. Job doesn’t praise God for his ailment, but he does remind his wife when she thinks cursing God could be the right answer, that if we accept the good, we have to also accept the bad. Job’s diseased skin had affected him and his appearance so drastically that three friends who had come together to visit and comfort him, hardly recognized him and immediately began grieving for him. Then they sat with Job for seven days, saying nothing, just sitting with their friend. They felt compassion for Job, and wanted him to know they were there for him. They had all most likely shared good times in the past, and now they showed up for their friend to share his in his anguish.
