Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs focused on the mission, or the command of a Christian to love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. In other words, the call to GO to the world to bring hope and light to the hopelessness and darkness. There is a tendency to narrow the understanding of “neighbor” to those who look like you, act like you, and worship like you. In fact, Jesus explains in a parable known as the Good Samaritan, that neighbor is anyone who needs you. Anyone. Expanding your understanding of who your neighbor is, and what it means to love them as you love yourself, is the key to living out the gospel of grace.
