Pastor Deidre Franklin continued our summer series, I’ve Been Thinking, with her favorite childhood story from the book of Luke. After the death of Jesus, most of his followers, including those closest to him, began to leave Jerusalem believing their hope and faith had died with Jesus. As is so often the case when hope is lost, Jesus shows up and reminds the disciples of his faithfulness, resurrection power, and eternal presence. Sometimes the best way to learn a lesson is to look at what not to do. The lesson in Luke 24 was not just or the two on the road to Emmaus, it is for us, today.
