Pastor Andy Rauschkolb kicked off our new series with a powerful message of the Gospel, the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Andy defined the Good News: Through Jesus Christ, God fully accomplishes salvation for us, rescuing us from judgment for our sin and into fellowship with him, and not only that, but then restores all of creation in which we can enjoy our new life together with him forever. This is not a temporary kind of good news, but the ultimate good news. The proclamation of the angels to the shepherds on the eve of Jesus’ birth is true for us today—and every day. The Good News of great joy is our pardon to embrace, our purpose to live out, and our path to follow. We are no longer held captive by sin, we have purpose to continue the good work of Jesus. God is making all things new, and our path to follow is to be his ambassadors to the world that so desperately needs him, loving the unloved, being a voice of hope to the hopeless, bringing light to the darkness. Jesus has invited us to join him, where the burden is light, and we will find rest for our souls
